- Navigation on inland waterways, inland ports and inland waterways

- Aerospace and weather service
- Transport research
- Environmental protection in the transport sector
- Digital infrastructure
The Committee on Transport is the lead committee in deliberations on draft legislation submitted to the Bundesrat by the Federal Government when the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is the lead ministry, and for draft legislation from the federal states’ governments drawn up in the corresponding Land ministries.
The committee also participates in discussions if legislation examined primarily by one of the other 15 committees has an impact on the policy areas listed above.
