This committee is responsible for addressing policy devised by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) that relates to the family or to senior citizens

The Committee on Family and Senior Citizen Affairs is involved in discussion of bills that are relevant for family policy issues, for example reconciling family and professional life, and for questions that affect older citizens. The committee is the lead committee for deliberations on government bills drafted by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ).
