Access / accreditations
The media and representatives from associations must be accredited to report from the Bundesrat.
The Bundesrat recognizes annual accreditations from the German Bundestag and from the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government, as well as accreditations for the Bundestag’s term of office.
One-day accreditations may be obtained from the Bundesrat’s Press Office until 12 midday one day prior to the meeting.
Please send us a fax (+ 49 30 300100-198) with the following information:
- Surname
- First name
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Name of your print medium or broadcaster/ association
- Number of your press pass
Access to the plenary (central parquet area)
Access to the plenary (central parquet area) is restricted. Access is granted to photo journalists and camera teams with cameras for live broadcasts. All other members of the media may follow events in the plenary from the press balcony.
Photo journalists may stay in the area behind the members’ benches. Access to the corridors on the second floor (glass façade at the rear of the plenary hall) is only authorized between 10.00 a.m. and 10.15 a.m.
Two camera stands for live-broadcast television cameras are available in the plenary hall, each with one connection for public service broadcasters and one connection for private broadcasters. Additional camera stands are located on the press balconies. ENG (electronic news-gathering) teams may also set up their cameras there.
Access to the press balcony
The press balconies are primarily for media representatives.
Accredited visitors may access the balconies. Other visitors are only entitled to enter this area after registering in writing beforehand. To register, please send a fax by 12 midday on the day prior to the meeting to the Bundesrat’s Press Office (+ 49 30 300100-198) providing the following information:
- Surname
- First name
- Reason for requesting access to the Bundesrat
Please note that access will be granted subject to capacity. Priority is given to the media. Instructions from the security staff and ushers must be respected.
Visitors may also follow the plenary meeting via a live broadcast screened in room 1.088.
Access to other Bundesrat events
The Bundesrat reserves the right to restrict access to special events due to limited seating capacity or for security reasons.
